Chamber Music in Oklahoma offers nationally and internationally acclaimed chanber groups including string quartets, trios, and other varied chamber ensembles.

It began in 1960 when a small group of dedicated music lovers in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area felt a need to provide live, quality chamber music to central Oklahoma, resulting in establishment of an annual Chamber Music Series.

The organization has grown from 27 original members sponsoring three concerts to over 150 enthusiastic supporters enjoying an five-concert season.

In addition to its regular monthly concerts, Chamber Music in Oklahoma has sponsored several quartet series, including performances of the Beethoven cycle by the Chester Quartet and the complete Shostakovich cycle by the Manhattan Quartet.  In future seasons the organization hopes to sponsor the complete Beethoven piano trios, as well as the Mozart quartets.
